Twenty six SEZs get approval

The proposals of Emmar Hills Township Pvt Ltd, Parsvnath Developers Ltd,
and TCG Urban Infrastructure Holdings Ltd for special economic zones
were among the 26 approved by the government today.

The inter-ministerial Board of Approval also gave in-principle clearance
to eight proposals including Writers and Publishers Ltd’s proposal for a
multi-product special economic zone in Chattisgarh and Rassai Properties
and Industries Ltd’s proposal for a multi-product zone in Andhra Pradesh.

The BoA considered a total of 82 proposals for SEZs in Assam,
Chattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh. An
official release said the total number of formal approvals had now
increased to 212 and that of in-principle approvals to 152.

Interestingly, as many as 11 of the 26 proposals cleared at today’s
meeting relate to Ranga Reddy district in Andhra Pradesh.

These include two proposals of Maytas Properties Pvt Ltd and one of
Rudradev Infopark Pvt Ltd for information technology zones. Lahari
Infrastructure Ltd’s proposal for a services zone in the district was
also cleared.

Among the other proposals cleared was Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd’s for an
integrated sugarcane processing complex with a sugar plant and
distillery in Belgaum, Karnataka.

The proposals granted in-principle approvals included two of Dr Reddy’s
Laboratories Ltd for pharma zones in Andhra Pradesh.
